The ancient Celts kept a 13 moon calendar and alphabet based on sacred trees . Every tree had its own significance in Celtic life and folklore. Here we offer wood slices with the shape of their leaves burned into them. The asymmetry of the designs is due to the designed radiating out from the center ring of tree growth, not mathematically ‘perfect’ center. Therefore, every design is different and may not match pictures exactly. Wood slices are treated with a sealer so they can be used inside or out. The stars are made of vine and reed and bound with hemp twine. All are hung on hemp twine and are great for hanging on altars or from trees. Slices are approximately 1” (Elder/Holly), 4” (Alder, Hawthorn, Hazel, Rowan, Willow), 6” (Ash, Birch, Oak). Stars are approximately 6” (Reed, Vine)
